Dr Mitzi Noble-Munuo
As a doctor specialised in General Practice, I am all too aware of the pressures of modern day living together with the impact this can have on our physical and emotional health.
I have a keen interest in lifestyle medicine, practicing prevention and reversal of long-term health diseases through simple changes in lifestyle.
There are six pillars of lifestyle medicine as set out by the British society of lifestyle medicine.
‘The six pillars of lifestyle medicine are:
Healthy eating: A plant-predominant diet with whole foods, fruits, vegetables, beans, lentils, nuts, and seeds
Physical activity: Regular physical activity
Restorative sleep: Getting enough sleep
Stress management: Learning how to deal with stress
Avoidance of risky substances: Limiting or avoiding harmful substances
Positive social connections: Building and maintaining healthy relationships’
My aim is to help you implement these pillars in your day to day lives. Increasing the amount of physical activity you perform through yoga or other intentional movement. Whether attending classes in person or online I hope to provide positive social connections, reduce stress and improve your quality of sleep. Through the practice of yoga we begin to make more mindful decisions around healthy eating and the avoidance of risky substances.
I have been practising yoga for 10 years. Since I was in medical school, I have been in awe of the transformative effect it has had on providing emotional resilience and physical fitness. I am so pleased to have completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2024 so I can share this experience with others.
I feel passionate about reducing financial barriers, making the practice of yoga accessible to as many people as possible.
Currently I create online yoga classes available on YouTube (@downwarddoc). In addition to this I am so excited to start free in person adult Yoga classes, beginning January 2024.
Classes are booking only, you can find the booking tab at the top of the page. I look forward to seeing you there!
